I already had the impression that you are really  weird. Cool!

la, sir, you flatterer.   :eyelash:

Maybe a little.
I can remember thinking coolweird after reading what others had said about you, many times. Did you know people talked about you while you were gone?
I knew nothing about you.  Fiesty is very appealing, but the name Vivi was enough to make me lose a little pre-cum.

Still on jazz, today - Miles Davis marathon.
Right now:
"Kind Of Blue"

i didn't know - what were they saying, then?  oh, and my real name isn't vivi, and would probably make you suck it back up - anti-cum.

sadly, i was put off MD by some twerp who insisted i listen to some of his outlandish, non-musical jazz before i'd heard the good stuff.  i am reliably informed that "kind of blue" is what i should listen to, though - would you agree?

Mainly that they missed you for various reasons, plus I had read a few old posts of yours that seemed to have been made by an enlightened spirit. I was anxious to flatter.

So, if I called you "VV" you would not respond? (probably not well, since I just realized VV could be an emoticon for a sagging pair of tits) I think I'll just call you Lucifer for now. A real name is not relevant to your spells, anyway.

Once you get into the Bitches Brew era and the Fillmore concerts (seventies), Davis is certainly not for everyone. His music from that period is a mixture of rock/jazz/funk and not structured traditionally.

"Kind Of Blue" (1959) is considered by scholars of the genre to to be his masterpiece. I would recommend most of his recordings from the fifties and sixties as being somewhat similar to KOB, in that they are small (five piece, mostly) moody classsic jazz combo jams with a little forties swing thrown from time to time.
His career spanned fifty years and went through enough evolution to offer something for almost everyone.

i do believe a trip to frostwire is in order...   :eyebrows:

Speaking of Mile Davis, I think that 'Kind of Blue' is a bit over rated, and over played. John Coletrane from that same era on the other hand is quite good.

In my opinion, Miles Davis was at his most interesting period when in his electric phase, starting with 'Bitches Brew'. I fairly fond of ' On The Corner', 'Live Evil', and 'Dark Magus'.

As far as really outlandish Jazz, though, you'll probably want to stay away from Sun Ra as well as Peter Brotzmann, Jaap Blonk, etc...

Kevin Shields' four tracks he contributed to the Lost In Translation soundtrack.... I haven't got it, and won't be getting it, but these would probably be worth the price of the soundtrack album alone. It might not be MBV, but its still Kevin.  8)
