An old concert with Michael Brecker. It seems weird, but I could not find my folder with the rips today, which I know I have done, so I turned on the tape machine.

I played the full eight and a half hours of live Michael Brecker tapes, I recorded over several months of working together.

I now wish I had never recorded over anything, ever.

Not so depressed anymore, though.

With the tape machine out though, I am playing some Head East. Rock stuff.

One of those "cover your eyes and grab from a shelf" choices.

HA!!!

I'm going to play that right now. I have had Beatles in my mind all day, but in response to other horribilities, only.

I own the Paul re-mix. It's going on now.  (Apple version, first release.)

I sometimes wonder if Paul has a better ear for the Beatles than George had.

The compression, EQ and balance on certain instruments is closer to "right" as I would expect from years of listening the sounds from this studio.

This particular album is most impressive played over my mini-two watt tube amps, across the Visaton B200/Dual fifteen JBL Open Back systems, with appropriate diffusion/dispersion (secret) triangle panels placed at the conflicting nodal/null points which are the most musical and highest fidelity, lowest stray resonance amp/speaker combination I have ever owned. I have owned many. Some green monster stuff too. None measures up to the simple minimalist approach for magical three dimensional imagery and clarity.
I actually made my bass propagation system resemble a string bass instrument.

(Fucking Renaissance artisans were ahead of all of us.)

Paul had a good ear, that's for sure. As proven by the Let It Be... Naked album.

I wish he would take all the old tapes and remaster them.

I have not advetised it much, but I am a Beatles fan.

(rememer me starting a dead-end thread about a weak-assed idea for a time capsule and I included the Beatles, but PI wanted vinyl eating bacteria included. ... :D)

I listen to them every week. If I don't choose them, then my daughter does, since she is also a Beatles fan.

Roll over, John and George!
