They don't here, anyway.  It is specifically forbidden as a playground game in the schools here.  I sort of liked it when I was a kid, because it was a case where I could use my brains instead of my limited grip strength.  I gripped my teammates' wrists and recommended that they grip mine, because I was always considered the weakest link in any playground game, so they always ran to where I was holding someone's hand to try to break through.  I was a tiny girl.
