I don't think a utopia can be achieved, but I do think we can have a much better system than what we have today. Capitalism has become unsustainable due to automation, exploitation and other factors; a replacement is needed.
I consider myself a democratic socialist and feel this would be a good fit. People still have a democratic process (in fact it would be more democratic as it would also extend to industrial democracy), still have the same freedoms like freedom of expression and speech etc, but a socialist system to ensure public ownership and as much economic fairness as possible. This is in contrast to the likes of Marxist-Lenninism (what was practiced in the Soviet Union), which is authoritarian and undemocratic in nature.
