Did I mention both myself and my wife had Covid-19 about 4 months ago - before it was fashionable?

I guess we both had what is referred to as a mild case, i.e. we required no specialist medication or hospitalisation, but it still sucked ass.  My wife says she still feels rundown, and I still get out of breath quite quickly.  The main illness lasted about 10 days and then tapered off over another week.  My lungs felt like they were on fire and I think my CPAP machine helped a lot.  My wife said it was in the back of her sinuses and they felt like they were burning. 

They say that you get it for 10 days and then you either start getting better or you start getting worse, and it's that 10 days of fear that's the worse thing about it.  You have to look at the odds and tell yourself that you're on the right side of the statistics.

Anyway, long story short, WEAR A FUCKING MASK.

Pretty much the same with me. At the time, I never thought it was Covid, as there had been no official cases in the country. I just thought it was the chest infection from hell. Even months later, every time I lay down, I was hearing my chest bubbling, popping, and whistling, and making all sorts of other disturbing noises

I'm still not 100% back to where I was before this hit, and like yourself, still get out of breath and wheezy quick.

The only good thing about it was that it didn't block my sinuses.  I hate that about colds/flu.

We just had some cases of wine delivered to the house and drank our way through the worst of it.

I had a really bad case of bronchitis back in February - I was convinced it was covid until doctors told me otherwise. Took me until April to get over it, and even now I tend to be more phlegmmy/find it slightly harder to breathe at times. It doesn't help that I'm a fat bastard either.

If I get covid, it's guaranteed I'm fucked. It would likely make that bronchitis seem trivial in comparison.

Me, my aunt, and uncle all had the antibody test, and we all came back positive. I'm 30, non smoker, swim, work out most days, play football, and in good health. It was awful for me.

My aunt is 68, a smoker with angina, but otherwise decent health. Only got barely got ill.

My uncle is 68. A smoker, angina, emphysema, COPD, severe heart problems, and obese. Never even noticed he was ill


We spent the whole time trying to shield my uncle, assuming that if he caught it, he would automatically die.

The illness is pretty random.

The chances of getting a severe case skyrockets if old/vulnerable, although yes, it doesn't mean they will get a bad dose of it.

I've been lucky so far, so not taking chances!

I had covid months before the lockdown even started: 2 days in bed with a fever and 3 weeks of severe bowel pain after that. Bowel pain wasn't recognised as a symtpom until 4-5 months after I experienced it.

I was in so much pain I couldn't work I excused myself to go to the doctors. I had to go about 3 times and they couldn't help me, the pain subsided in the end. It was on par with a dental abscess.

maybe. I dont know. I had some illness in my bowels and at the time covid was not a bowel disease.

Herd immunity has already been achieved, but the government keeps you in fear because now they can tell you to change your behaviour
