He's right, but the Democrats' problems run far deeper than being too honourable in their dealings with the Republicans. They obviously gave up being honourable amongst themselves a long time ago.

If the democrats were smart they would find an independent with republican leanings to run. While Trump's approval ratings are seemingly unwavering, if he wins again it will be by a very narrow margin in several states like before. Independents don't generate many votes, but stealing one percent of republican voters could be enough.

The Democrats are so smart that they will choose Creepy Joe Biden to run against Trump, and a year from now they'll be scratching their heads and wondering how Trump and the Russians beat them again.

Frankly I'm sure they'd rather lose with a centre right, "steady as she goes" candidate who appeals to their corporate donors than win with a genuine progressive.
