My wife is downstairs putting up the christmas trees.  And yes that is "trees" plural.  She has gone and bought another one because a single tree isn't christmassy enough.

Hey man, thanks for resurrecting my stupid Christmas thread. I though about it the other day but was worried it might be too early.
:plus: Sorry I can't really plus you.

I don't know if you've ever had to be with a woman who isn't excited about the impending doom of Christmas, but yeah be grateful for those tree(s).  :lol1:

Too early?  I don't think "too early" exists for Christmas nowdays.

The thing I like the least is early Black Friday deals. I stay home on Black Friday but I've always appreciated the ironic juxtaposition of how Americans gather with loved ones to be thankful for what they have, and then go out the next day to trample strangers for great deals on more stuff.  :autism:

I never really buy anything at Black Friday. It's just a complete con of a day, another annoying lame americanism that has infected countries over here.

Some places even do a "Black Friday Week".

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, so I didn't know there was Black Friday in places with no Thanksgiving.  :lol1: I'm not sure when they started doing "Cyber Monday" but this year I've noticed early Black Friday sales happening all over already and Black Friday is still a week away, so I guess that means it's turned into Black Friday "Week" here too.  :dunno:

I don't agree with Black Friday but I did just pick up a Samsung S21 5G and 200gb/month of data on a 2 year contract for my wife for £32 a month.

That man has been dead for thirty years. Not sure how long the commercial ran, but an update would be difficult.

He was kind of a star over here, in some circles.
Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

I put together a spotify Christmas playlist of lesser heard Christmas "choons" that you don't hear on the radio.  Please feel free to listen and to recommend anything interesting you've found so I can make it bigger for this year.

(I *think* I took out all the bad sweary songs btw but apologies if you play this for your Gramma and there's still a "parental advisory" track amongst them)

No way a tree's going up before the middle of December.
