Silver Linings Thread!

Find the upside of one of your current problems or complaints.  :2thumbsup:

I'll start.  The recent mouse activity in my apartment freaked me out bigtime, but it also
pushed me to attain a new level of cleanliness and order.  It also gives me a plausible
explanation for water damage to the hardwood floors, since I can (truthfully) say I had to
mop everywhere to erase the trails of scent that might encourage the mice to return to
their old haunts.  So I may get my security deposit back, when the day comes for me to
move out, which hopefully I will do at some point.  8)

Finally got the guy from the shop to replace the timer on my "new" (to me) washer so hopefully it stops pissing on the clothes at the end of the spin cycle.

I could put it on another cycle to spin stuff out, so it wasn't a dealbreaker, just a PITA.

Now to use the hell out of it and see if it behaves, his diagnosis did not match my diagnosis. But I kept my mouth shut since it is still under warranty and he's a pro at this...right?

My last job got to be so bad that in the end, I got sick and had to make a radical change that resulted in a new and better job, more money, and more opportunities for further change. :viking:

A phone-call upset me enough to spend a night on ruminating and pondering. Made some resolutions to change things. Feeling lots better now. And have made the first appointment to set things in motion.

So it pays of for her to get you angry. Could she be doing it on purpose?   :apondering:

I doubt it.  She's just naturally contemptuous of many things about me.  Smug bitch.

The trickling toilet tank is like my very own water feature, right in my apartment!  So classy!  :autism:

Because the students ask really stupid questions, I am forced to find alternate sources to explain things and often learn new things myself. Statistics is like another language so I get the benefits of learning the nuances of a new language as well.

My father tended to repeat the same thought in several different phrasings, that's what I mean about
his having had a "ruminative" thought process.  It may have stemmed from the challenges of teaching
difficult material.  His having grown up bilingual may have contributed as well.  :apondering:

Because Sears was so unprofessional I was forced to find a much better (at least electronically) service to book the appointment to change our tires and get an oil change. My guess is that they will throw in the check engine light for good measure.
