check the video though! Live ammunition training was something I usually considered near-mythical, as in - live ammunition shot *AT* fellow collegues, hell they even shoot each others (wearing vests, obviously)
Yeah, I watched the video. I thought it's a pretty stupid practice, unless of course they would actually stand still in a real life situation, expecting only body armor shots will be received, while they retaliate with head shots.
Like he says, it's "confidence training", to train controlling your nerves in hectic situations. I mean, usually people train shooting at flat paper targets, which are even worse. Just paper that doesn't shoot back, doesn't move
But here you got live ammo blasting into your own armor, whizzing past your head
I'm not sure how practically applicable this training is (or more countries would employ it), but it definitely is "typically" russian in its badassness
