Not sure, but was under the impression he did try after the forums ASDC and DD stopped, or in their end days. If he did, I never joined.

We owe jman for this place's existence really. If it wasn't for the shitstorm generated on the original Intensity site by his 'members of Wp you'd liek to fuck' thread, I2 would never have been necessary. It'll be ten years in April. Scary...

I'd forgotten he was the genius who started that one. 

Okay, weird example of the plasticity of memory.

I was thinking about what happened a couple days before I read this post, but I remembered it as "members of WP you'd like to rape". Then I saw this and figured I must have remembered it wrong. But today I was talking to WolFish about the same thing, and before I mentioned the thread, he too brought it up as "members of WP you'd like to rape".

I have no clue which one it was.

The forum archive file still exists somewhere and I don't plan to bring it back to check. I just find it interesting how people remember something like that differently.

Was the reaction on WP that strong, that it was as if it was about rape?

I didn't pay much attention to what the reaction was on WP, but there was enough drama on the first Intensity itself that we had to create I².

The cause doesn't obviously compute to the effect; not understanding the connection of had to create I2.

Uh, the short version is that the first Intensity was a child-site of WolFish's forum Neurolands, hosted at the same place. But Neurolands was meant to be a work-friendly site, so a who would you fuck/rape thread was a problem. Shutting it down pissed off lots of people, who then went and formed a forum where such things were acceptable.

The forum archive file still exists somewhere and I don't plan to bring it back to check. I just find it interesting how people remember something like that differently. 

It's a shame, though. It would be fun to read the archive.
