I paid for my psychiatrist appointment and left. I got some way down the street when I thought, "Oh crap" and had to run back for my prescription that the receptionist forgot to give me.
I've had many of those due to the insurance company dictating medications regardless of what the doctor says.
They go like this:
MD: here's three months worth of prescriptions.
Me: That's great, but can't I just come pick them up one at a time?
MD: No, just take good care of them.
One month later (time to refill the prescription):Me: Oh, crap.
LaterMe (on the phone with support staff): Hey, it's me. Would it be possible to get another set of prescriptions?
Them: You lost them again???
Me: Yeah, I, uh, put them in a safe place/safe place until I got home/new safe place because I couldn't remember the old safe place and I can't find them.
Them: OK, we'll talk to the doctor and you can pick them up this afternoon.
One month later (time to refill the prescription):Me: Oh, crap....
