Clarify, please.

Yes, examples please. What fiction, and what kind of relating to it? What do you mean with gentle relating?

I'm curious what you mean too, but my guess is the answer is going to be yes, I'm like that too.

Do you mean like when I was in my early thirties and I had never heard of the book by Stephen King called, "It" since it had not yet been published,  I had been having many troubles with real life clowns at the time, even to the point that I could not even sleep in my own bunk (I was traveling with a band at the time and slept in a bunk on a bus) and would prefer to sleep in the walkway than go into my own bunk.

I might awaken with a bitey sharp toothed clown ripping my blankets apart, making direct eye contact with me as it crawled out from between the wall of the bus and the wood and upholstery of my bunk. Slashing the whole way trying to get to me as I kicked and tried to crawl away from it ... and then I would actually awaken, terrified, panting, sweating and most of the rest of the band was also awake wondering WTF was going on.

Few months after some really moving moments, I saw the cover image - the almost exact fucking clown face I had been seeing for moths before.

I generally kept up with Stephen King at that point, but anticipating his upcoming novel, I was not yet ready for at the time.

Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

  • I peopled today.
Stephen King obviously had/has lots of issues.

People with issues seem to make great writers.

I should probably try writing some day.

I think he's said as much. Something about writing to stay sane.

I had Stephen King's book called On Writing and in it he said that if you want to be a writer, you have to read a lot and write a lot. I don't know where that book is now but I remember liking it.

He is right. Writing without reading is a bit like building a house without finding out the proper way to do it first. It could work but chances are it won't.

Star Trek. Used to be that I had to watch it every day and I would try and engage my workmates into talking about it.

Just like his inspiration, H.P. Lovecraft.

Talk about someone with issues.
