2014 College Football Thread.

Just started last night.

I watched that Arizona Wildcats beat up on the UNLV Rebels, 58-13.

This is kinda worrying me because the Wildcats are the team that upset the Oregon Ducks last year, ruining their chances at a BCS title.

Oregon Ducks start this season ranked #3. They play tonight against South Dakota. I'm betting they win by at least 40 points.

Anyone want to bet on the game??   :zoinks:

You Europeans got a taste of College Football in Ireland and it was a pretty good game between Penn State and University of Central Florida.  8)

Cal State Golden Bears beat Northwestern 31-24!!

That's a huge upset for Cal, they only won 1 game last year against a small school. Northwestern is a solid Big 10 team.

Florida State vs Oklahoma State was a good game.

Even though #1 ranked FSU held the lead the entire game, OSU was nipping at their heals and threatening to take the lead from the middle of the second half up to the last 2 minutes of the game.

Florida won 37-31

Drank a 6-pack of Bass Ale watching this one.  8)   :beergrin:

I played football back in the day. I couldn't dream of doing it today. That's a sport for those under 42.

Had a really long talk about this years ago with my English teacher of all people. Talked about everything from the "need to be a part of something" aspect to the fellowship of watching it with friends, subculture, etc. None of those things appealed to me, and we basically got down to the brass tacks of: "He likes to watch football, I like to play football."
