This is why old women sparkle in the sunlight...it's really NOT body glitter in their lotion. ;)

This creates very possible foundations for a whole new reason for strife and division (the favorite hobbies of mankind!)

I can allready see camps of young people, "milked" for the purpose of the longevity for a select few, who will be needing repeated replenishing
maybe whole "castes" of "everliving" old people, living by the slavery of "cows" birthing their "medicine" at an industrial rate

mmmmmm, horror :9

I think I^2 should write a scifi play about this, complete with gruesome sets and dark music.

The implications of young blood for adults aren't the only thing to consider. Current medical practices might be doing a disservice to young people when administering blood, by not considering the age of the donor.

There won't be any requirement (sadly) for introducing infant-juicing stations with racks upon racks of automated child-presses.

The factor involved in reactivating stem cells has been identified and afaik sequenced,
What I would do isn't complex technology. Simply packaging the gene as a plasmid insert or for more stable permanent expression, appropriate transcription factors and promoter sequences package it into a retroviral vector which can transfect the cell line to be used and integrate its payload into the genome itself. Culture in bioreactors, harvest, purify, use.

That compound is definitely one I want to try cloning into a vector and expressing in a cultured cell line once I put together all the equipment I will need for genetic engineering at home. Sadly no need to build the baby pressing stations though :P

Exploring the physical chemistry though should be a blast, see what modifications improve its qualities, what superior analogs can be made etc.
