I liked Serenity and Firefly. Couldn't get into The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Battlestar Galactica's got graphic sex scenes in it? :o

For a ten year old, seeing a hot, blond, extremely sexual Cylon effectively raping her male partner, while her backbone turns red hot is a bit much. (even though all we see is her naked back and all we hear is the deep, DEEP breathing)

I don't think of it as graphically explicit, as in porn, but for a maturing, (immediately pre-pubescent) virgin male with social difficulties, approaching "The Sex Conversation"  with his dad ...  it is a bit much.

Plus trying not to give away any plot details, but there is also confronting rape scene too later on in the series. I'm just glad I have plenty of other scifi series on DVD to watch with my kids.

Yeah, we have plenty to watch, but we always have Major Wood present at the thought of something NEW!!

Unfortunately, I had to demote his Major to Private after this scene.

He's just not yet ready.

Blade Runner, and it's my first time watching it.
George:I'd say I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not. I excel at not giving a shit. Experience has taught me that interest begets expectation, and expectation beget disappointment, so the key to avoiding disappointment is to avoid interest. A equals B equals C Equals A, or whatever. I also don't have a lot of interest in being a good person or a bad person. From what I can tell, either way, you're screwed. Bad people are punished by society's laws, and good people are punished by Murphy's Law

Blade Runner, and it's my first time watching it.

Which version?

... not that it matters, but I am a kind of connoisseur of that movie. There are five versions, all of which are cool.

I recently bought the re-hash of that movie, so that I could enjoy the upgraded sound in 3D surround.

:

I also bought both "2001" and "2010"  on my last excursion.

The boy loves them, not so with my daughter. The quiet parts scare the HELL out of her. My son tries to comfort her, by attempting to explain that there can be NO sound in space, but she still runs away when the quiet parts come.

Is 1080p in 5.1 DD on a 50" plasma acceptable?

Why the fuck would anyone bother ripping Bluray to 720p?

All that grainy shit from film annoys me, perhaps I'm just an ungrateful whippersnapper or something.
