The worse week of my life series one
Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.

watched loads of films recently (well, had to find something to do while the O Man was on holiday without intergeeks access :'( ).

favourites, by miles:

"the queen" - just brilliant: i was gobsmacked, cos i thought i'd hate it.
"moulin rouge" - top bananananana!  i love baz luhrmann, so had to rewatch...
"strictly ballroom" - i really love luhrmann.  i practically watched this twice in one go, i kept rewinding it so much.  fucking funny, and the dancing is sooooooooo sexy.  (the proper stuff, that is).
""dune" and "children of dune" miniseries - again, surprisingly good, i thought.  loads better than the film, even with Sting in it.
"the remains of the day" - just gorgeous.  i'm always fascinated by the lives led by the very upper classes - all those servants and rooms...

It was? I vaguely remember seeing the first episode and thinking it would be unwatchably awful. Dialog as bad as Star Wars. Worth a second look?

it wasn't great drama, but i enjoyed the interpretation, and the costumes were great, i thought.  (i'm such a girl...).

nothing thought-provoking or challenging, but they got the gist of it.  easy watching, and pretty.

one annoying thing: they changed actors for a couple of major parts, and that always pisses me off.  but at least it wasn't as completely impenetrable, like the copolla film.

Coppola films aren't impenetrable. Watch an Ingmar Bergman film.

I actually think most of them are very good. You're supposed to watch them.

Just like you're supposed to look long and admire the fine curves of Duchamp's Fountain?

Yes, though I think Bergman was a greater artist.
