It's fabulous. Completely nuts but fabulous.

I finished watching Breaking Bad, season #4, yesterday. Now need to get hold of season #5.

Aircrash Investigation.  New series.

On Discovery?

I tend to avoid those because I fly often and my OCD sometimes gets into overdrive with too many air crash investigations in my head. I remember one where the aircraft mechanic had taped over a sensor inlet resulting in the wrong data being fed into the flight computers and the plane crashing. I still obsessively check those inlets when boarding a plane because they tend to be clearly visible below the cockpit windows.

I'm watching 'My Family' on BBC Entertainment. Mildly humorous but I stayed (whilst zapping channels) because I do like daughter Janey.  :green:

On National Geographic Channel.  Yeah I remember the 'tape' one.  It was nasty.   I don't blame you for not watching.  If I had to fly a lot I couldn't watch either.   That series has made my phobia worse.  I used to worry about pilot error but had not considered the maintenance aspect.  Like the cargo door coming open due to the wrong screws being used.  Yikes.  I also used to think that crashing into the sea would be a survivable option until I saw a few of them.

The maintenance aspect worries me more than the pilot errors, to be honest. Lots of things a careless tech can forget when servicing a plane.

I tend to like flying. A little turbulence used to be enough to make me worry but I've pretty much gotten used to it.

On my way back from Montréal last year, there was turbulence pretty much all the way from the Trudeau airport to Heathrow. All eight hours of it. At first, the pilot would lit the seatbelts on sign as soon as the plane started shaking a little, but I got the feeling that when breakfast was being served on board some time before landing and the plane started jumping around for the umpteenth time he could no longer be arsed.

He couldn't be arsed because he had dozed off.  :zoinks:

My brother was flying to Germany to judge a dog show and he wouldn't get on the plane because it was a woman pilot.  He had to buy another ticket with another airline.  Apparently being a sexist pig is not a valid reason to transfer.

That's completely unreasonable. :P

Woman pilots are pretty rare still, AFAIK. I read about two women working for BA in an in-flight magazine. They were sisters and one captained short-haul flights while the other only did transatlantic flights. Their dinner conversations are probably fascinating.
