A wonderful old uk tv series called 'Flambards' about a family through about 20 years, one brother interested in flying planes and modernity, and the other interested in horses, hunting and old ways, and a female cousin who is interested in all ways.

'Elizabeth I' with Helen Mirren, made for Channel 4 here in the Uk... it was only £5 from Asda so I grabbed it, as I love historical things. The music is absolutely stunning.

A TV show about Brandi Blackbear, who was suspended from school because of allegations that she "hexed" a teacher and checked out a book about Wicca six times from the school's library.

I am so pissed about what that school did to her.  Thank goodness we have the ACLU.

Whilst I find her treatment awful I find it interesting that in one paragraph they can seemingly pouring scorn on the idea of magic:
Quote
"These outlandish accusations have made Brandi Blackbear's life at school unbearable," said Joann Bell, Executive Director of the ACLU of Oklahoma. "I for one would like to see the so-called evidence this school has that a 15-year-old girl made a grown man sick by casting a magic spell."
But in the next claim that they defend the rights of Wiccans.

I noticed this case was from 2000, how did things end up?  Did the school have to pay damages?

Watching 'Amadeus' . Forgot what a great film it is, and of course, he had Aspergers apparently. Doesn't it suck that only some are born with savant abilities, lol.

No, Brandi and her family lost the case, and they were ordered to pay the school district's court costs.  They planned to appeal, but the school district offered to settle:  If Brandi and her family dropped the appeal, they would not have to pay court costs, but the school would not apologize for what they had done to Brandi.  The school had unlimited resources to continue fighting.   Brandi made a statement from the steps of the courthouse right after they lost and she said she had already gotten what she wanted.  They accepted the school district's offer.  Brandi was not really a Wiccan.  She was very interested in it and was reading a school library book about it and when some kids teased her, she joked about it.  She never really hexed her teacher.  I think he had appendicitis.

It's impossible to know. Maybe the character in the movie had AS, but who knows about the real thing?

Exactly! The whole notion of post-humus diagnosis of any malady of the neurologic system or the mind is completely absurd and I hear it all the time, by aspies. It's one thing that really turns me off.

Sure ... I want to identify myself with Mozart, (Edison, Ben Franklin, Geronimo, Confucious, Furtwangler, Tesla, MLK, Hendrix - There are so many!) also - but, I'm satisfied with telling you how much I love his music, even though I have autism (which is only important to me). I don't have to make historical figures "just like me", in my mind, to learn from them and respect their contributions.

I+You
Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

Gordon is going to get black bagged and evey is going to go through the torture chapter.  It is going to be fabulous.

Maybe so, but he is included in several books on creative genius among Aspergers people, written by those who specialise in diagnosing it, so I suppose it depends how much information they have on hand. Of course, it could never be said for sure unless they somehow managed to summon up the dead for an assessment, but a rough estimate is the best they can do.

Problem is, there's not a lot of information available on Mozart. I've always felt that the experts proclaiming him as an Aspie are guessing more than anything.
