Well the timing was what made me think it was nomaken in the first place, as well as the posting style being like him, I saw him log off, then log back on again soon after the guest post appeared..

I think it would be more interesting if there was a set amount of time between the submission of a ritual and the revelation of the author.  That way people will really scrutinize over why it is who as opposed to playing hit and miss until the right person is found.  I propose 3 days time.

I actually did scrutinize over who it could be, if people guess right it makes more sense for the member to own up and makes it less likely for people to start playing hit and miss until the right person is found.  Think about it- if someone guesses right and then that member makes it look like it was wrong guess, then people are going to start suggesting other people even if logically they don't seem like the most likely people to have posted that.

Despite the obvious ability of people to predict who is who by writing style, theoretically you can't know for sure who it is, so if you guess right, it doesn't matter because you can't know if you are right.
We don't have that many people on this forum.  And if each person guesses someone different, and the author must reveal once discovered they will eventually uncover the real author in only a few tries.  On the other hand if there is a waiting period each member can guess several times and debate with others, and actually have fun reasoning out a conclusion before it is revealed.
And I don't think it is fair that the author can't post about their own post nonanonymously because it makes it much more likely that they are the author if they dont participate.
So if the point of this game is to reason out who is who just on the basis of the ritual itself, there are several things undermining that if one, there is no set waiting period, and two the author can't join in on discussion.

The admins can tell who it is just from the IP. That kind of takes the fun out of it for me. I would ignore the IP's, but I can't control the impulse...AND IT PISSES ME OFF WHEN PEOPLE LIE!

I haven't been using the IP address.  Those are numbers, lots of numbers, i cant keep track of it.  It just washes over me and I forget them.  And I didn't lie.  I just said who I would have guessed it was.  What I declined to say was "if i didn't already know it was me."  But that doesn't make the previous statement any less true.
