I still don't get it really. How would you even conceive space without being connected to time and vice versa? What kind of idea have those people had? I still wonder if I misunderstood him, but I asked to clarify on it several times and that was pretty much essentially what he said.

Most people don't understand pretty fundamental things, that's true. It's not unique for you to have discovered that, though.

Real things are frightening. Like war. Internet forums are not.

The only think that still is frightening in this world are people and what they do and think. War has probably killed much less than ignorance, if you are going for abstract concepts. But people on internet forums are a lot less abstract than you might perceive them to be and the power of the experiences of decades of social deceit and manipulation is very real. There are malicious evil people out there who's only purpose seems to be to ruin other people's lives.

The possibilities that you are considerably affected by war are a lot lower than that some nutjob will act against you. If you are in the US and afraid of war but not random people on the internet, I suggest you get a bit more realistic.

War happens right now, and people are being killed. It is dangerous, and it is something to fear.

War is pretty much dead forever in the western high income countries and an exclusive issue of poor developing countries you will never live in like Somalia, in terms of being actively involved as a target. Being frightened of war is about as real and helpful as being frightened about malaria or dying of diarrhea, famine and the hantavirus.

If you live on the right part of the world, there is about as much reason to be afraid of war as there is to be afraid of vampires and zombies. It is nothing of immediate concern because it is not a reality that can become true for you by any realistic chance. That someone fucks up your life can happen very well under certain circumstances on the other hand. Internet forums did of course never kill people, people kill people. Killing is not very popular though, fucking you up is. It is all about how the things you do change your odds.
