Looks like I gave into peer pressure. 

I have to agree to a point.  FB has a lot of stupidity on it.  And lately, I've had to trim my "Likes" areas because they were really getting out of hand or irrelevant or repetitive.  But, it is my main source for keeping in touch with family and friends.  And friends online, like CBC, CG, renaeden, Morthaur, Queenbee, etc.  Friends from previous forums long since dead.  It's also a good place to indulge my volcano, sci-fi fantasy, geology, history and literary interests.  It's not for everybody, as Hyke pointed out.  When I first started out it was pretty creepy with certain friend requests that I would get.  I even had to unfriend some people for certain reasons.  My "privacy" controls are kept pretty tight.  I finally learned to do that and it's been better.  Of course once, suckerberg and his cronies do another "improvement" to the site.....I may be singing a different tune!

As for all the kerfuffle over ASDC, it didn't surprise me.  Like the Drivel, it was slowly dwindling down to only a few.  Guess I would have liked a bit of warning, but, out of all the forums that I have been on that died, warnings were the exception rather than the rule.   It was fun while it lasted.
