I like Starbucks, but all I ever wanted there was a simple cup of black, strong coffee, so the obstacle of having to explain this to a clerk smiling stupidly while calling me Sir and offering me latte this or frappuccino that is sometimes overwhelming and I end up going somewhere else.

Really, when you want to wake up, a plain old cup of strong coffee is the best thing! :coffee:

I lucked in finding a coffee cup that holds 8 ounces.  Ever since I've been using it for my tea and coffee I find I'm eating less (go figure).  Even though it doesn't have a lid the coffee doesn't get cold, probably because it doesn't take me that long to finish it.

Eight ounces sounds reasonable.  After all portion sizes have been increasing for the last 60 or so years.  Coke originally was 6 ounces in the bottle.

8 fluid ounces is a cup. ;)

I'm not always quick on the take up.  Yes, I know 8 fluid ounces is a cup (I am a housewife).  What's difficult is finding a coffee cup that holds that amount, not the 12, 16 or 24 ounce mugs.  Since then I've added 2 more cups to my collection.

A Moomin cup!  :orly:

Here is a Moomin having a wee sip.   :tea: :moomin:

Barely noticeable. Not enough to keep the headache at bay.

The caffeine withdrawal headache is a real bitch, especially when accompanied by nausea!

I gave it up.

Bought something called Dandy Blend (dandelion, chicory mix), supposed to help with the caffeine withdrawal (I really didn't have any, a couple of mild headaches) and I actually like it better. Doesn't really taste like coffee...kind of of like hot chocolate, coffee combined...different, but good. I use a spoonful of choc creamer (no sugar) in it and that's all...hooked on the stuff.

I will never give up caffeine.  I just don't think I could do it.

You'd better watch out; the Weeble looks thirsty.

If you had a method of smoking caffeine, you'd be set. :P
