LESTAT RETT happens!! :heisenberg:

Weather prediction for the day: overcast and cold, with a fair chance of red fuming nitric acid, with a cautionary 'it'll turn into a swamp' warning for the back garden of  Mr.L.Rett..... (no, not a fuming nitric acid swamp, I mean, an aqueous swamp, thankfully. I doubt the neighbors would appreciate a tide of red fuming HNO3 crawling it's way slowly towards the hedge, setting things on fire as it goes :autism:

People sell fireworks.

I considered buying some, but my neurotic brain started calculating the costs of supporting such an industry (without knowing its cost to people and the environment), and I hesitated. I am probably overthinking it. I am probably obsessing over details.
Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.

Mainland China has a history of turning government schools into fireworks factories, and the children into assemblers.

It's all fun and games until someone lights a cigarette or mixes the wrong chemicals.

They'll turn HK into a shrine to the CCP. After they've dealt with the local people.

It's raining and there's a young blackbird (T. merula) on the grass. Seems he's in a good mood for he sings a short but loud song.

(blackbirds tend to like rain.. and grass lawns.. 'cause the chance for them to catch a worm increases then)

I'd like to see blackbirds in action.

Here there are too many noisy cars going past. Some of the noisiest are the brand new ones. Why anyone would choose to buy a car that you can't hear the radio or other music over is beyond me.

Hey Reneaden.

I know nothing about thrushes in Australia. 'Turdidaes' are found around the globe, I thought (not around the poles).. but..

Um, maybe a little video.. ('Recognize the blackbird' = title)

They are brillant singers. Very creative. I like 'm..

Blackbirds tend remind me of this song. Didn't realise it was written by McCartney. He's now gone up a bit in my estimation :)

Quote
Since composing "Blackbird" in 1968, McCartney has given differing, contradictory statements regarding both his inspiration for the song and its meaning.[2] In one of these scenarios, he has said he was inspired by hearing the call of a blackbird one morning when the Beatles were studying Transcendental Meditation in Rishikesh, India.[3] In another, he recalls writing it in Scotland as a response to racial tensions escalating in the United States during the spring of 1968.

I see no reason why both statements cannot be true! But anyway, this goes to show they also have Blackbirds in India, as well as here...there and everyywheeere (sorry, couldn't resist)

PS who the heck posted the Brian Eno album? I just confused the heck out of myself and anybody else who might have been logged in, by accidentally re-posting a whole hour  of Eno as "Blackbird"

Fixed now, anyway :)

PPS. I think it's mean to call blackbirds ""turdus ..."unless you catch them dropping little presents  over  your washing line, ofc.  Then it's entirely approrpriate.

Birds go outside. It rains. Birds come inside. I go outside to vape in the rain. Come back inside, it stops raining. Cats always trying to get outside, only one of them will stay in the yard, the other won't come back.

The struggle is real.

^Our newest cat Kira is always trying to get outside. But he can jump the wall. On the other side is the road and Kira has no road sense. So he's an indoor cat.
