I thought that was cool. I have been to meteor crater here, and found it to be overpriced as all hell.

I also have a canyon diablo Iron nickel meteor. it weighs 286 grams and is one of my favorite pieces
I think its so cool you can hold something from outerspace in you're hands.  :green:

I should have used the term meteorite. its only called meteor in space.
Also, that show meteorite men is awesome. I don't have the delux package for cable, so I never had it but seen a few episodes on youtube

I'm going to watch it right now

Interesting site. Guess they only track the ones that hit land masses. Either that, or meteorites only hit land.

I still study Astrophysics in hopes of a) finishing my PhD. some day and/or b) getting a job applying my background in space physics.

[suspicious][geek]I sometimes feel that way about ordinary iron or nickel objects. They're just everyday things, but when you think about where the metal in them comes from, it seems that each one is permanent beyond our ability to change.[/geek]

Yes, I know that "geek" isn't a real tag.[/suspicious] :P

Cool, though, isn't it? To know that the iron is from a supernova?
