I don't think you can agree to have your relative's organs donated if they're not on the list, although I could be wrong

\Seems silly that grieving relatives can veto a decision which would potentially save several other people's lives. You can understand why the right to do that is in place, but still, I think rational decisions should be made by doctors, not emotional decisions by family. If it was just a given thing that everyone's organs were donated when suitable, then it wouldn't be sucha  big emotional thing.

I hear about coma patients waking up after having had doctors declare them to be in a vegetative state.

That's why one has to be quick about it

I just made an appointment so I can sign up to be on the bone marrow registry. It is at uni that they are running it and they are hoping for heaps of people to sign up.

I have wondered about how to go about doing this for years, this way it will be easy.

I'm a card carrying donor, and I regularly give blood. Its just A+, but i'm sure it helps someone.

I happen to be a frequent blood donor as well.

I have O+, so they often call just two or three weeks after I just gave a pint asking if I can come back in.

I sometimes do. Generally, I wait for about a month or so. My doctor tells me that my blood is too thick with red blood cells and that I should donate often. Been this way since I was in my twenties.
 :dunno:

Since I had kids, I set my card to "YES"  as an organ donor. In the past, often felt that any emergency care I might need would be compromised if I carried a valid donor card, but I no longer care as much about living forever.

Renting out is an option too, one that has a time limit, so you know when it will be all yours again.

I saw on tv a man in an Asian country (forget which one) who sold one of his kidneys so he could start up a family business.

I got the forms about being a bone marrow donor. I don't have any of the exclusion factors so it looks like I can do it. I sign up next Monday. They will probable take some blood.

Check her card, first.  Make sure she IS a  pussy donor.

too many people, alive, in the world today.

I remember reading how about ninety percent of the human inhabitants should leave the earth to the more worthy.

How about you?  Can you think of at least nine people who should not inhabit our world?  I might be able to come up with additional selections for those who can not name nine people, if the need arises.

For a moment, I though bodie was talking about love. I was thinking "aww, bodie wants someone to give her their love-heart? I wouldn't mind"...and this it was about organ donations and I thought... "well obviously not while I am alive...."

:P
Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.
