The funny thing was that before fainting he bragged about not being afraid of the thunderstorm, though I'm not sure whether he fainted out of fear or was somehow struck by the shockwave. There were obviously big holes in the wall from the lightning, and one big tree was cut in halves.

In the Netherlands they have the tradition of the "wandelvierdaagse". When I was in primary school, it was obligatory to participate. Somehow we always had a day when we had to walk in a thunderstorm. When I was 12 my whole class was struck down three times, because of a shockwave. Pretty scary, one bolt of lightning right over our head, spreading in three directions around us. When we were back on our feet, it did it again, and again. No one was hurt though.

I saw lightning hit the Eiffel Tower when I was up there, on the top floor.

Today seems to be better. No thunder, just blue skies and sunny weather.

Very, very sticky and humid weather. My least favourite weather, I think. It's so oppressive, not hot though, only 23ºC. No wind, hazy.

Same here, and although I hate winter, this is too much heat and humidity, and I haven't even worked on the roof today. It is almost unbearable indoors.
