On another note, we have a road that often floods over during heavy spring rains. It is sometimes, but not always three feet under water and they have erected a permanent gate they can close off and re-direct traffic due to this ongoing problem. Last summer they began a project to raise the elevation of the road in that area near the creek that floods.

In my mind the road should have been lifted up about three feet and we would be done with ever having to close that road again, mostly.
Nope. They spent many $$$ on lifting the road about a foot or so. It can still flood. The road was dangerously close to closing just two weeks ago, after half the summer and all the fall working to raise it. Fucking low rent minds!

Several degrees below freezing, now. Still trying to rain, but it freezes upon contact with all but the roads, so far.
The roads are highly treated with chemicals right now, so no trouble driving, yet, but it is coming down pretty fast.

Nice weather. We have about three inches of ice on everything.
I have salted our drive and the front walk, clean most off my car. I have to pick up my daughter from work in about an hour.

Freezing rain seems to have diminished to barely a bit of snow with the continual drop in temperature.
Everything is "pretty."

Fairly heavy rain with some wind damage and hail in New Orleans.  Just heavy rain here.

From what I have been exposed to in the media, you are still in danger of inclement weather.

Icy. My car rocked it all. I should calm myself.

My wife is out there doing her UPS driving thing and I will calm down more when she arrives safely home.

Raining cats and dogs. Absolutely bucketing down all last night and all day.

Last night alone we had more rain than we had in the entire months of December and January combined, and we are set for days of this.

It's great, might put a bit of water in the dams and get the grass growing again.

I'm expecting a very wet and muddy golden retriever puppy when I get home.

It amazes me after every big storm how Wales gets flooded again and again.
February 1953, Wales and the Dutch province of Zeeland had lots of casualties, because of a big storm combined with springtide.
Yesterday another big storm and full moon, so, parts of it with extra high water. Zeeland was safe. Yet Wales will flood again and again with a big storm.

Watermanagement so differs, from country to country.

24.5°C and cloudy at 9am. Finally got the house cool again after the last batch of hot weather. It's going to be hot again on Friday though.
