Colorado is brave!
Ulysses S. Grant was President when the Territory of Colorado was granted statehood into the union of the United States of America, in 1876. (can't get much more brave)
Guess what! That happened less than one month after our Union celebrated our centennial. It had been one hundred years since our great nation had declared its independence from British rule and made it stand.
Colorado became known almost immediately as The Centennial State.
Very brave, indeed! The flags of France, Spain, Mexico and The Republic Of Texas have all flown over Colorado.
I have the state tree of Colorado, Colorado Blue Spruce, growing in my back yard.
