It's winter and we've got a number of out-of-control bushfires across the state.

Meanwhile we've sent most of the heavy firefighting equipment (planes and helicopters) back to the northern hemisphere because it's not supposed to be bushfire season here.

That pretty much sums it up. We need rain.

Still ridiculously dry. We've got out-of-control bushfires in winter FFS!

We've got some serious rainfall scheduled for this weekend though. About time.



I remember one summer, back in the late '80s ('89 I think), where it rained every... single... weekend for the whole of summer.

Something like 19 wet weekends in a row.

During the week we had glorious weather and then when Saturday rolled around the clouds would gather and it would start raining. Not just once or twice. 19 in a row.

Kind of strange, chilly and windy. Temperature fifty eight Fahrenheit, around fourteen centigrade.

Supposed to get really hot toward the end of the week, though. Summer is NOT over yet.

It's dusk here.  Slightly cool, moderate temperature.  Neither hot, cold or warm.  No breeze.  Cooler than warm but not cold by any means.

Cold front came through overnight.  Not predicted to get above 92 F, 33 C. 

What makes it nice is the low(er) humidity.

Fifty one Fahrenheit here this morning (around eleven C). Still only fifty four at nine AM. Predicted to barely breach the seventies, this afternoon.
Almost like early fall, but ninety degree temperatures are forecast for the weekend.
