Yes, I was wondering what it's called in English, and looked for "Tigereye", forgetting that combined words are split up in English, with very few exceptions.

It is nice looking mineral. My dad has a bunch of turquoise, coral and silver jewelry of the Southwest Native style. When hiking in a new place rocks are usually the second thing I notice after trees. Is pink granite commonly used with monuments/sculptures in Norway Zeg?

Asbestos gives tiger eye that formation inside of it. Don't eat one, :blonde:

This is the most dramatic fire agate I own. Its spectrum of color is by far the best I have, Fat purple on one side Yellow/Orange/Green on the other, I took it out of this pendent. I just got it today

Not that I've noticed. In fact, I know very little about rocks and minerals, but I do know that slate is common, and sometimes gathered by oneself. My mother laid some self-picked slate in front of the fireplace.
I also know there has been many historical soapstone quarries in this region, and our cathedral is built almost entirely of soapstone. As a result, it has many discrete little carvings down on person-level :D
northernmost cathedral in the world, and largest in Scandinavia :M

It has very fun gargoyles here and there, including one that shits rainwater out its ass :D
Very old, and according to local legend, haunted by a malevolent monk :D

There's also at least 3 of those statues in front, that are handling decapitated heads:
One is holding his own decapitated head, creepy. Another holds a basket of heads, creepy. Another is standing on top of several heads. Gotta love it! :D

  I like emeralds, garnets and opals.  I used to own a silver ring with a garnet in it, also a pair of opal earrings.
   I suspect they are still at my parents' house amid the clutter, maybe one day I will find them and wear them again.  :blonde:

I never knew that. I have a chunk of the brown and a small nugget of the red around here somewhere.

I have rocks all around here, including some in my head. :LOL:

...and lets not get into arrowheads.

I used to love hunting for those, wish I knew some good spots around here.

I think it looks like petrified wood as well.
Remember, fossils have nothing to do with the original organic material. Fossilization, aka mineralization, will simply replace the fossil with its surrounding minerals. Since the process is extremely slow, there will be a difference between the surrounding rock, and the cavity it fills up (the cavity that once contained bone, which later rotted down to nothing), thus giving us the oportunity to tell rock and fossil apart. Some bodyparts will rot slower, such as hair and feathers, resulting in a different color in the resulting fossil, and the famous dark, fluffy outlines around feathered/furry fossils.

this means a fossil can be anything.
An obscure Australian fossil of the dinosaur Kakuru is made of opal.

Nice answer Zegh. Looks like opalized petrified wood, nice collection you have got there.
I should tell you that "citrine" you have in the rough, has been heated. it was amethyst at one point, its a very common practice in the marketplace to do that to amethyst. and yes, tigers eye contains asbestos

Richard fun fact- true Citrine is actually rare, in nature.
