I don't know if its the same in NZ as it is over here in Oz, but it isn't socially acceptable to talk about how good looking you are as that is seen as being vain or stuck up.

It's probaly about the same everywhere. Though in Sweden it's actually worse to claim that you're intelligent and well educated (even if you are) than saying that you're good looking etc etc.

Agreed. Here everyone needs to be "equal" in everything.
When will some people get their needs around the difference between equality and equality of opportunity. The latter is what I support, as a socialist meritocrat.

In Sweden they "equalize" by making things equally bad. They've banned the kids from celebrating Father's Day and Mother's Day, since some poor kids don't have a father or mother.  ::)

Er, no they haven't.

In school they have. You're still allowed to celebrate it in your home, of course.

??? Then they've changed it back. I remember when it was "unfair" to celebrate it in school.

My kids have been allowed to, all the way. My best Father's Day cards were made by them i school. Some of them are hilarious.

Probably different in different schools, then. The socialists have run this town for decades.

The way I see it is that the Media will beat up any old story to sell you something or some bullshit idea.
