My mom is about to die

This is not how a life should end.

on February 25 my mom was making a left hand turn when a 17 year old male ran a red light an t-boned her.
The broke her c1and c2 vertebrae and major damage to her spinal cord.  She was dead on the scene and the paramedics brought her heart back.  She is completely paralyzed and in a long term care facility.  She is alive because a machine that breaths for her (respirator) and a machine that keep her heart firing (pacemaker)
She will die at any time because she is slowly losing her kidney function and her heart crashes from time to time or any one of the other associated risks due to paralysis.
She is 70.

I am not feeling much about this other than the feeling that she should just let go.  Request that he respirator us turned off.  This is not living.  And this is also not how people are meant to die.

Same as Parts said. My condolences and this is not how it should end indeed.

Can she do anything at all, aside from vegetating? Like saying goodbye?

I hope for her and you that she can let go soon.

She can shake or nod her head. Has eye movement.  And can mouth words, no sound.

Must be horrible for her. And for you as a family.

Wishing all of you the best for the coming weeks.

Is the hospital willing to check her wishes, when it comes to wanting to go through all this awake or asleep?

I honestly do not need sympathy.  Just wanted to put it out there.  Just kind of release it.

What I need is results.  Her moving passed this life would be best for all involved, IMHO.

Before i became tethered to the urchin i used to have this great outlet.  I live near a place called 'lickey hills' and the tallest hill is called 'the beacon'  -  you can drive most of the way but have to walk to the very top where there is an ancient ruin of an old castle.  I used to stand on top of this castle and shout shit when i needed.  I think some of it was aimed at my own non-god, but some of it was just to get it out, off my chest so to speak.

No one was ever around.  Just a few trees and they seemed not to mind.  It helped.
