I don't actually use that information either, but sometimes the broken relations cause problems with the database because the deleted member's posts are in threads populated by existing members, quoted by them and so on.

It's a disorganized and inefficient method of storage, but it's still only storage. If your software is designed to handle the free agents, like guests, then it shouldn't really cause problems to anyone other than an administrator.

:LMAO:

This is hilarious. I'd get rid of that word filter but I still laugh like a loon whenever someone trips over it.

Odeon,

I see MLA deleted his account, why did you let him do that, I thought you didn't want to do that anymore because it corrupts the database?

Because I haven't said I wouldn't do it any more, I've only told why I'm weary of it.

I have thought about not allowing it, having had to fix things caused by it, but we've allowed it pretty much from the start and it's not that common. Right now I'd rather fix the db if it goes wrong.

Did Fiona delete her account as well? It seems like it's totally gone and not even a "guest" account anymore.

I think it's still here, just under a different name.

EDIT: I found it, Fiona is Mr. Smith.
