What have you done today?

Cleaned around the house because we had house guests (some friends and my sister-in-law).

Got through, tidied a bit, got very angry, nearly melted down with a colleague, that would have been interesting. 
Did my job, never that little motivated before.
Got meds, got catfood.
Cooked a proper meal, raced to shop to get ingredients for a cake the birthday girl would love tomorrow.
Watched a movie with the girls.

Now having a break. Will be making a cake soon. 

Have any of the Intensity guys volunteered to jump out of it?

For her 13th birthday? 

How was her birthday?  I know it wasn't perfect since  you couldn't get off work, but I hope it was nice for all and that too many of the I2 guys didn't show up.

Aah, some of the guys here would have livened op the party I guess.
Her best friend had to work during the day, and had to go elsewhere in the evening. And, because of all uncertainties, only her Dad and my parents came. There will be other visits later I think. Diluted birthday pleasure. Her Dad was a good host, they had a nice party. When I came home, we had some bread and soup, and then the guests left.

Both my girls managed to fall victim to the flu in the evening. But, were fit enough to enjoy another visit this morning. Diluted birthday pleasure for her indeed. Her friend just called if it was OK for her to drop by after dinner. She's part of the family here, she is welcome.

Sorry it wasn't the best.  But you can always start planning for her 18th and 21st parties, with a side trip for the younger's 13th.

Already claimed a day off for her party next year. And, when it is granted more than four weeks before, they cannot cancel it. So, next year should be better.

December isn't the best month to celebrate a birthday btw. People are so packed with parties and celebrations. Party overload is happening massively.

I took GA to the airport, now he's on the other side of Australia. I miss him already.

I also went to the shops to buy drinks and a present for my mum.

Then I came home (GA's place) and slept.

Went to the tax office, will have to go again later. Dropped shoes to be fixed at the shoe shop, worked, worked, shovelled snow, shovelled snow, shovelled snow. Made a holly garland in the living room and hung Christmas decoration in it. Watched a movie with the girls, brought a friend of my girls back home after that.

In between, the usual things, like making sure there is food on the table, and such.

I used the shoveling of snow to wind down. I actually like it. Especially when there is mesmerising snow still falling. I could have waited and just have done it once. But, it did me lots of good. Needed it, because the travelling to another city for tax stuff, on a day that I have to work is not what goes well with me. The way work was the past few weeks left me flustered and stimmy. Should have been to that tax office earlier, but, everything had done in my head that much, that I could not manage. This was my last option this year I think, and it had to be before Januari 1th of 2011.

House is a mess at the moment. And, second half of December is no time to catch many breaths alas. But, I won't have to wake kids early in the morning, that is a good thing in these last two weeks of the year.

I donated blood.

I have done this before and they always had trouble getting my blood out. Since then I have been diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder (it clots too easily) and so I have stopped donating blood. But good on you for doing it.
