All that aside ...
I came to say how cool our health care insurance is.
I wrote a check for the doctor's attention for eight hundred ninety dollars (we managed to get four-in-a-row appointments for the whole family to have all our eyes examined) to the eye doctor for all of us to have eye exams and another check to the lab for one thousand seven hundred and seventy dollars for six pairs of brand new glasses (my wife and I will have prescription sunshades, as well).
I insisted that this was NOT right!! I knew that there was going to be some kind of support from my wife's insurance company, regarding eyes - she is "Union" and truckers are fucking required to SEE, FFS!!
I was standing (well, trying to keep myself from actually jumping up and down, to be honest, while my wife and five other women all told me that I was just being stupid. I am NOT stupid!! I do know things.)
After a half hour conversation on the phone with our insurance company today, they are paying all but one hundred forty dollars of our bill and services (mainly because, I chose top-o'-the-line service and lenses and frames, etc for all of us.).
On another note, I had the most extensive and invasive eye examination I have ever "suffered," yesterday. I have never in my life had such an extensive eye test!!
As it comes out, I actually have uneven eyesight. My left eye is twenty - five (as opposed to what they consider as perfect eyesight, which is twenty-twenty) and my right eye is twenty-ten. In other words I can see better than most people with "clinically perfect" eyesight, but I suffer with an astigmatism which means that in order for me to actually see as well as I "could," I must wear corrective lenses to correct the astigmatism.
The big HOORAHH! is that we only have to pay for our upgraded services and hardware - all the rest was covered. I just wish I had been able to convince the pow-wow of "intelligent" women that this was so, so that I would NOT have had to go to the bank and transfer two thousand dollars from one of my accounts into the one we wrote the check on. Fucking LAZY office bitches!!
