I find my nightly prayers useful and comforting.  They let me focus on good wishes for friends and family, thankfulness for the blessings and trials I've been given.  Quite often I have an answer to a prayer even before I've even completed saying it. Prayer brings me peace, acceptance of myself and awareness of my accomplishments and shortcomings.

I'm not even sure eye color/pupil shape CAN be fucked with surgically.

One thing I'd love to see, is attempts at developing a functional tapetum lucidum-the reflective layer in the back of a cat's eye that reflects stray ambient light back, giving them the excellent night vision they have. Granted I'd have to wear my shades 24/7 due to photosensitivity. Built in night vision wold be neat as hades though..

I'm pretty sure pupil shape can't. Well, at least not if you want to retain any sort of function in the eye.

I wonder if the shape of the iris could be remodelled, to create something like a double-ended coloboma, and colored black. So as to create a cosmetic effect sans buggering around with the functionality of the eye.

My father had the color of his eye and the pupil shape radically altered when he was a child.  I neighbor kid used a BB gun to do it.  There were certain consequences though.

^What colour did his eye go?

I have heard of chemicals being used to turn brown eyes blue.

We had a resident at the home, years ago, who must have had an injury to one eye, because
the pupil was oddly shaped; the black went out to the edge of the iris in one spot.  :apondering:

That kind of protrusion of the pupil, into the iris is called a coloboma, CBC.

There is a procedure in which a colored implant is place in front of the iris to change the
color permanently.  The originator of this procedure works in Panama, so one would have to
go there.  There have been complaints of eye damage, not surprisingly.  Also in the works, and
soon to be available, is a laser procedure that removes melanin to reveal the blue that
(apparently) we all have underneath whatever color our eyes normally are.  Too scary!   :GA:

Neither. They are just plain blue. My twin has dark blue eyes though and one of my other sisters has hazel bits within the blue that looks quite striking.
