nice nice noice. I cant smoke pot however, hell come to think of it I cant do any mind altering drugs anymore exept caffine and coco,  :(
Once they figure out that taxing weed is profitable more states will take a look at this, plus I've never known a stoner to fight random people or act a fool. All they wanna do is lazy activites and then pig out on something. alcohol is a far more dangerous drug in my opinion. Good for those voters

Does marijuana cause anyone problems though? When I tried it, I got really very paranoid - I thought "they" were coming to get me, whoever "they" were. It was just something my mind made up and I was up all night checking and rechecking door and window locks. This was very amusing to the few people I was with at the time.

Yes, it does cause problems for some, even when using just a little. A brother of mine had to be carried away on a stretcher after just one inhalation.
A friend of mine would fall down after one glass of wine.
Some people react strong, and not always pleasant, on things that work on the mind.

Just to add another reaction to a chemical my brother in law gets a high similar to smoking pot when he eats foods with lots of MSG in them.

I used to get a really euphoric, giggly high out of Sunny Delight, back when it was the original formula.  I haven't tried it for years, but I think they've probably taken out whatever additives were in it that caused that.  I remember reading something about how the version sold in the US used a different, more natural, formulation from day 1.

As I got older I think the weed started getting stronger, no more home-grown mellow you out eat some cheetos and chill shit...started having panic attacks with it which in turn triggered my asthma. Either that or it's yet another allergy I developed that I can write on the ever growing list (hope not).

I'm sure Pa. will be one of the last in line to legalize it, but when they do I have a spot in the garden.

Wondering how they are going to regulate growers/suppliers? That will be interesting to see.

It has gotten a lot stronger, in general, compared to say 20 years ago.

Speak for yourselves, Americans >:'I
Hash in Norway (Pot is almost non-existent) has only dropped in quality, the past 20 years. It gets "watered out" for easy profit, and if you don't personally know a good dealer well, you will easily pay money for hash you'll get _no_ effect from. Sometimes you will even be severely overcharged, and on top of that still get no effect whatsoever from it.

It is probably true for America that weed gets more potent, but it bugs me because people know _very little_ about drugs, and will "import" facts - so it's common for Norwegians to be under that belief as well - that weed is more potent than before - cus they heard it on some American cop show :(
I bet there's even Norwegians who believe Mexicans import it here :(

The rising of the THC levels in Dutch weed seems to have stopped after 2004/5.

Makes sense. I mean, it can't raise forever :D Theres a certain limit to it.
We don't get Dutch weed here either tho, I don't think they export much, at least not on an "industrial" scale, like northern Africa, or South/Central America does.
Most the Norwegian hasheesh comes from northern Africa - and flies right past central Europe on its way here. Eastern Europe get its weed from Asia, so it seems Dutch weed mostly stays put :D Quite likely, it pours over its immediate borders, to Belgium and Germany, by private smugglers (as opposed to large organized crime), but not much further.
Like I said, pot is extremely rare here, yet it's grown in huge quantities in the Netherlands.

Damn those laws of physics.

To get their scare figure, The Independent have compared the worst cannabis from the past with the best cannabis of today. But you could have cooked the books in exactly the same way 30 years ago if you’d wanted: in 1975 the weakest herbal cannabis analysed was 0.2%; in 1978 the strongest herbal cannabis was 12%. Oh my god: in just 3 years herbal cannabis has become 60 times stronger.

And in fact, what’s most amazing is that this scare isn’t new. In the US, in the mid 1980s, during Reagan’s “war on drugs”, it was claimed that cannabis was 14 times stronger than in 1970, which rather sets you thinking. If it was 14 times stronger in 1986 than in 1970, and it’s 25 times stronger today than the beginning of the 1990s, does that mean it is now, in fact, 350 times stronger than 1970?

That’s not even a crystal in a plant pot. That’s impossible. That would require more THC to be present in the plant than the total volume of space taken up by the plant itself. That would require matter to be condensed. If I was a physics-minded branding manager, I would suggest Quark Gluon Plasma as the most appropriate street name for this substance: and I look forward to reading about the scare in the Independent tomorrow.
