Germanica fortis est  :viking:

My father's parents were Austrian immigrants.  He grew up speaking
German as well as English, and was bilingual for many years.  :viking:

This is right back about peoples inherent flaw: they think they matter - to the universe.
Planets are aligned only from a certain angle, a given point in space - just where we happen to be. Had we been on Mars, the planets wouldn't be aligned. The planets themselves are experiencing none of this alignment. This just means the alignment itself is something subjective - not real.

This alignment actually refers to the relatively straight line that is sometimes formed by the sun at one end and at least some of the planets. It has happened before and it will happen again.

I believe the increase in gravitational pull is very small but measurable. It will not actually pull satellites out of the sky because the planetary masses are insignificant when compared to the sun's. Even Jupiter is far too small and distant to cause any concern.

Thanks, that is good to know.  I have also heard rumors that massive
solar flares will take out the power grids, but who knows?  All I can say is,
this broad is going to be pretty pissed off when she's proven wrong.  :zoinks:

There was such an alignment a couple of years ago, in the 80s or so, with lots of speculation and worry. The satellites were all coming down, tidal waves would flood New York and solar flares would knock out electronics in planes.

Guess what happened?

These people are the modern-day equivalent to astrology nuts and the scale of things is roughly the same. The gravitational pull of planets will affect my future less than the gravitational pull from the spoon currently on the table next to me.
