Spazzes are now mainstream. :M

Yeah, I'm not edgy anymore.  Sucks.  I need to acquire a few more diagnoses. :trollskull:

I might change my DX to Schizoid, just to look more cool.  8)

The psych who dx'ed me with Asperger's mentioned in his report that my affect is
"odd and stilted, almost schizoid-like."  Sadly, neither Asperger's nor schizoid
personality disorder  "exists"  anymore.  So I am without a diagnostic country, in a sense.  :nerdy:

Regardless, I think we still need a Beatles' lyrics thread.

... cuz,

I'M LONELY!!    WANNA DIE!!!

(How better to sum all the blues that has ever been written into one song?)

Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

The public mental health system I accessed in 2014 said in my discharge summary that they were able to treat my depression (which they did, credit to them) but not my schizoid PD because it would take too long! I found that funny. I don't think they acknowledged autism. So they were still going by the DSM-IV.

The most important Current Event on my radar is the Better Call Saul season finale!  :tv:

I really liked certain elememts of schizoid personality disorder.  I could relate.  :2thumbsup:
Have read a number of adults autistics have been previously misdiagnosed as schizoid. It's easy to see how some of the criteria are similar and at the same time very different. One of the main differences in the aspect of personal relationships is schizoids have a lack of interest in relationships, while autistics do want relationships but are inept in acquiring/sustaining them. Have wondered if some adults are misdiagnosed because they can appear avoidant, when maybe over time they've stopped trying.

Yeah, hard to tell whether they're avoiding the thing itself, or the pain of continually failing to get it.  :apondering:

One of the more infamous incidents in the online Aspie community.

Does such a thing as the online Aspie community exist anymore??
Ah, I remember this. someone PM'ed me and said I had blood on my hands since I had done nothing to help. In true asper fashion, that was the first time I'd heard about Freund.

I still don't watch the news except if I can't get to the remote when the cartoons go off and BBC America comes on public television.
