I will try to take some pics of his origami and try to show how it all starts in 2D drawings, insanely sprawled out, then he cuts and folds it and folds it into a 3D thing or the reverse.
He just starts cutting out these totally random crazy looking things that eventually, he draws in details and folds into a standing image of terror (dragons or dinosaurs) or sweetness (his many forms of female shapes he seems to try to find something in) and then I find he has had a plan the whole time and an entire scene comes together of orgami-type things, drawn in pen or crayon and folded and cut.
It may be a full day before I begin to ramp his ass about the mess he has made on the floor and not picked up.
