That depends on whether or not you want the truth or the ascanian's version.

The truth- if you make someone laugh or write a post that someone thinks is well thought out, or that they agree with they can give you a karma point.  If you act like a dick or post something someone finds offensive or annoying they may take a point away fro you.  Most people tend to just 'yay' people.

The ascanian's version- people 'yay' members of their little clique as a way of cyber sucking their cock and they 'ghey' people who refuse to kiss ass.
