jury duty.
My husband just had jury duty a week or so ago.
He had a business trip scheduled for the next day, so he was particularly anxious that he not be picked this time. He saw a website that said if you have relatives who are in law enforcement, they won't pick you and we have three, my brother, my niece, and her husband.
He called the night before to see whether they needed him to show up and they didn't need him, though.
