Might just go to the shop later once my morphine has kicked in and it isn't so sore getting in and out of a car and pick up some cold beer. And bottled is always SO much nicer than canned. Don't know if its just me but I swear I can taste the can in it. And I don't buy beer because I want the flavour of a metal tin, I buy it because I'm thirsty, hot and in need of refreshment.
Think I'll wait for the pain meds to kick in, go for a cigar then scrounge a lift up to the store. I am saving up for some LiAlH4 but I've got a few hundred towards that already so a fiver to a tenner for a crate of grolsch or something equally as good is no skin off my nose. Well I do need some calcium carbide too but still, hopefully next pay day I'll be able to afford the lith-al at least. And what I can do with it, I can certainly make do without the calcium carbide for the timebeing, or else make do with using borohydride then borane:THF adduct and just buy myself a positive-pressure air-supplied respirator full face mask for the borane part (it really isn't very nice stuff, although I've never worked with the adduct between borane and tetrahydrofuran, that can be formed in-situ by oxidizing borohydride with elemental iodine.
