I can only seem to get Comfortis for dogs but not cats here. I usually use Revolution for the cats. Apparently other ones like Frontline don't work in hot humid climates, yet it's the only one most places sell.
Frontline worked fine here, fifteen years ago. Apparently the fleas adapted.
Looks like Revolution and Stronghold are different names for the same stuff.
I buy the large vials of Advantage and meter the doses by syringe according to weight here. Had a friend that ran a rescue that told me how to do it.
Afraid to go with anything stronger, my female is a sensitive, special little snowflake that can inflict great bodily harm if you're not quick about it.
Do you buy in bulk and if you do is it hard to find? We use the packets on the dog but not the cats they get flea baths every couple weeks
I was told about this years ago, when the kid was little he would sneak the neighbors cats in (they had close to 10 of them), and they could never afford to treat them, I was going broke buying flea treatment for their cats, but I had deep shag carpet, and it was better than bombing the house all the time.
This basically explains it:
http://www.lisaviolet.com/cathouse/advantage.htmlJust read carefully if you go this route. It only works with the original Advantage and Advantage II that I know of, you can compare the large dog formula with the cat in the store it's the same.
I even have one of the older product inserts which still gives the dosage for both cats and dogs on it.
Both mine are over 9lbs but I only dose at .4mL at the worst of the flea season, neither one goes outside, but my MIL's house is infested normally every year and she won't use the stuff...if I don't I end up with them from the hitchhikers brought down by the SO. The max is .8mL for 9lbs and up.
