And as for sitting on the computer and being in the house all day, why not say, encourage her to go for hikes in the woods, or if there are none within either walking distance or affordably priced public transport distance then there must be at least some little nature spots, parks or something along those lines around.

I don't know quite what I am going to do tomorrow. Something in the lab probably. Although I might decide also to take a walk up a little wooded path near my place and see what kinds of fungi I may find; either those for eating, unusual ones for me to take home and slip some spore-print slides and tissue samples on the microscope stage under the oil-immersion lens.
