 Well, I've heard the brain has no pain receptors, that would explain his not feeling anything.
 But he is a very lucky guy.  I hope he doesn't have any permanent damage.  :orly:

I remember reading quite a few years ago about a man who tried to commit suicide by drilling holes in his brain.  After about 5 or 6 holes he went to the hospital.  Don't know whether he was unbelievably lucky or unlucky that he didn't hit a vital area of the brain.

Feet are another place people get shot with them.  I have know a bunch of people who shot themselves with nail guns.  I haven't but come close a few times.  At times when you shoot into wood and they hit a knot or something they can turn in the wood and come out next to the gun or the side of the board.

i shot my brother with my dads staple gun once, it gave him a scratch but it just bounced off, we found the staple on the floor

Wow, must have missed the fibres of the corpus callosum too.

I used to use a nail gun a fair bit where I used to work and a couple of the guys there got in huge trouble for altering the nail guns so they could shoot nails without the guard on them being pressed down. Really dangerous.
