You know this better than I do but I recall a ways back when Beirut was called The Paris of the Middle East. Since being invaded by the PLO, IDF and Syria and then co opted as a client state of Syria and Hezzbollah people not from there tend to avoid it. If Lebanon ever gets back to that (Paris of the M.E.) I would like to visit there.

I was too young to recall what it was like back then (when I was in Lebanon during the Lebanese "Civil" War, I was just a baby). But my parents did use to tell me it was one of the best countries in the region.

Honestly, I hope the USA, Britain, or even France (once again) occupy the country because Lebanon can't advance with backwards occupiers and it certainly can't do shit on its own.
