Slept like I usually do. Well, but not enough.

Had been sleeping like crap until just the other day. I don't know why, but sometimes I just KNOW I will only be able to sleep lying on one particular side, sometimes on the other, and it changes from time to time every night. And on one side my shoulder has been hurting, don't know what I've done, but shoulder and upper arm on either side right near my shoulder has been hurting if I move it or worse, lie down on it. But thankfully the pharmacy accidentally ended up giving me some sleeing pills I wasn't meant to get. So I've been sleeping like a baby while that heals. Take a couple before sticking my blindfold on, and if I wake up later, one or two more, and I'll be out all night.

Not good in the morning. I closed my door to the cats. But I have a Japanese bell hanging from my outside door handle and Kira now knows how to jiggle it to make sound. And it gets really annoying really fast.

So he was doing that just past 6am this morning - too early to be fed. So I let him and Liam into my room and went back in my bed. So then Kira went under my bed and started ripping up the newspaper that an ornamental tile was wrapped in. That was annoying too so I crawled under my bed to bring the tile out, unwrap it and throw the newspaper in the bin. There will probably be more under there that Kira will try and wreck because he's hungry.

So yeah, that was interrupted sleep.

Last night I slept quite well. Woke up early without an alarm. Felt rested....that was nice.

Went to bed sometime between 1 and 2.  Woke up at 4.  It's almost 8 and I'm still up.

Thats rough QV. Remind me to share one visualisation i do that, if it doesnt put me to sleep, at least makes the  time interesting and relaxing. Can't type it on my phone effectively, so will wait till I'm on my computer later.

Ok here is the visualisation:

You lie down, get in sleeping position.

Then you visualise walking towards a flight of stairs, which is going down.

The first step lights up red when you step on it, and the space is filled with red light...red like [insert red item from your memory]. I might think, red like a honey crisp apple, and then visualise the red light and the red apple.

The second step lights up orange, and the space is filled with orange light...orange like [insert orange item from your memory]. I might think, orange like carrot juice, and then visualise the orange light and the carrot juice.

The third step is yellow...and repeat visualisation
The fourth is green.... repeat visualiation for green....
The fifth is blue...repeat visualisation for blue...
The sixth is lilac purple....repeat visualiation...
The seventh is a darker purple...repeat visualisation...

The bottom of the stairs is black...so when you get there, you visualise space and everything as being pitch black, and now you walk down this dark black hallway and at the end of the long hallway is a small door, just big enough for you to crawl through.

You have a key of some sort to open the door, and only you have access to it. Could be a physical key, a pin code, a touch...whatever. But you have the key.

You unlock the door and squeeze over into the other world where everything and every symbol is yours. My counselor said his world was like a cottage at the edge of the sea and all the animals would come be with him, and he had shelving in his cottage where he put different things.

For me I tend to wander into a changing universe, and there are spirits (good and bad) to greet and contend with. My world is less safe, less static, but thats just what suits me.

Your world, you can do/be whatever in it....
****

Usually I fall asleep before I get to the blue step. But even if I dont, it relaxes me. I was surprised that it worked.

Ok here is the visualisation:
That was good; reads sort of like a hypnotism. Jack designs buildings. It also doesn't put me to sleep, but does make the time relaxing and interesting.

Nice! Designing buildings is a good idea. Might try that, or a version of that. Thanks Jack.

sg - I have enough trouble remembering my prayers and the 12 steps that I say each night.  I'd need index cards to include your suggestion.  Last night was a rarity.

For some reason I woke at 4:30am and couldn't get back to sleep. It doesn't help that it's getting light around that time.
