Thanks for the well-wishes.  PA came home for 9:30 last night with a catheter in him.  I was able to remove it this morning and his plumbing seems to be working.  I'm making sure he's well-medicated at night, moderately medicated during the day.  He's a tough old b*stard, so as long as the boredom doesn't get to him, he should be okay.

 A catheter   I had been shot up with  Demerol when they gave me one and morphine when they took it out and it still was one of the most painful experiences I have ever had.  I hope he feels better soon.  for being a saint

Nurse had to cath the boy after his surgery for his appendix. They sent in this sumo wrestler of a female nurse to do it too. He said it was worst experience of his life.

Hope his recovery is an easy one QV.

Thanks everyone.  I'm not sure if the catheter thing worked as it should.  He was cathertized twice in the hospital, once for a "quickie" drainage and once to go home.  I took the catheter out the next day, or rather it almost took its self out.  PA said none of this bothered him.  Maybe I've found a new profession, Professional Catheter Remover, or else he secretly likes pain.

Took the PR to bowling, went to 6 stores, fixed meals for the family, computed.

I was not bothered either. I was not awake when they put it in though. But during my time with it in, the tubing somehow got a kink in it, leading to me gradually feeling full, very full. As I couldn't speak, all I could do was point to the kink in the line and hope they got my meaning. Eventually they did and boy, was I ever grateful.

So maybe it is more painful for guys to have a catheter than it is for girls?

I have done practically nothing today, watched tv and read the paper.

I've never had a catheter, but, my dad had a couple of times.
I do know the feeling of getting full, very full, with kidneys nearly drowning. That was agony. One of the most painful things I ever experienced. It is said kidney stones give the same aching. So, I hope never to get them.
