What's in a Ruben sandwich?
It's corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, with thousand island dressing, on rye bread. It's grilled and served hot.
I'd give that a try. Might be really good on a cold day.
I think they're just ok. Sugarbutt was super impressed his sandwich had the dressing because he's the only one who likes it. I told him, yeah, I bought a whole bottle of thousand island just for the authenticity of his sandwich, now that's love.  :lol1:
I was watching a show called Leverage yesterday and Ruben sandwiches came up. Before you wrote about them, I'd never heard of them. Then they're mentioned on a show I'm watching. Weird.

Yesterday I did my weekly cleaning stuff and did the back half of the pressure washing. Today I've done a big bunch of nothing. :hadron:

I attempted to make peace with the red bellied woodpeckers.  :meditate: I gave Sugarbutt new bird feeders for christmas because the birds had stopped visiting the ones he had. They may have gotten too old and were no longer keeping the seeds dry. Now there's the same problem as before, the woodpeckers toss a bunch of seeds from the feeders before they will take a seed and leave. I once read they prefer sunflower seeds and the bird feed has plenty, so I just assumed it's instinctive behavior and they cant help but dig in the seeds like that. Sugarbutt doesn't care but I've always disliked the red bellied woodpeckers for this reason. Yesterday I watched a woodpecker completely empty a feeder that was about half full, and I swear I never saw him eat a bite. I decided to read more about them and found they also like peanuts, so I bought some unsalted peanuts and Sugarbutt put them in the empty feeder this morning. So far so good. Today I saw several woodpecker visits at the feeders, no seed tossing and no nut tossing either. They just took a peanut and left. The other birds seem to like the peanuts too.  :2thumbsup:

I like that you and your Sugarbutt are bird friendly. I'd like to be but we have cats. Our cats have a curfew and couldn't catch a bird if they tried. They're way too slow.

Today all I've done is take my meds and have breakfast (cereal).

The girl can't have bird feeders either. One of her dogs hates birds and completely looses their cool when one is around.  :lol1:

I wiped out the fridge and made a shopping list for tomorrow. I also picked up prescriptions and gassed up the car. :hadron:

Shopped, brought Carla her coffee at work, browsed the book store to use my last gift card, laundry..........not necessarily in that order.
